Today I was feeling slightly inspired by Syd of OFWGKTA and wore loose jeans, but tried to girl it up with a cropped sweater. Kind of a random outfit as the title of this post indicates, but I like it. I did the nails myself and definitely could have done a better job but today is a lazy day.

Denim Denim Denim

I love Pauly D but unfortunately (but unsurprisingly) he is not a follower of fashion because he seems to think wearing denim on denim is out of style! Well he obviously couldn't be more wrong. This denim jacket is something I found in my basement last spring and decided to give a good bleach job, since I couldn't commit to doing anything of the sort to my hair. I must admit I was quite pleased with the result and it's one of my most versatile pieces.

If only I could wear my beloved denim jacket with this lovely Stella McCartney dress:

I think that would look pretty rad, maybe with some mmm boots:

But know matter, maybe one day :)

Batman Returns

Spring is not quite here yet in southern Ontario and I am taking advantage of every fleeting moment of warmth and/or sunshine. In this case that translates into a superhero tee, a scrunchie, and a wee bit of ankle (the first skin you can show off in early spring without getting strange stares from passers-by).

I personally favour the bleach blonde version with hints of pink, blue, or purple, maybe even so you have to look twice to see if you were just imagining it.
I first saw this look in Nylon about a year ago, and have not been able to get it out of my head since.

And it seems if you actually want this done right you don't want your hair looking frizzy and crispy, you have to go to Bleach salon, which will require a trip to London. (and yes, thankfully temporary options are availiable)

(Toronto)Talent Alert:NorBlack NorWhite

Norblack Norwhite is a Bombay/Toronto based brand, designed by Amrit Kumar and Mriga Kapadiya. These two talented Torontonians that do a totally amazing job of mixing east and west. They specialize in giving the traditional shapes of Indian clothing a western spin so they look right at home here in the fashion scene of North America. "Ali Baba" (as Kapadiya says they're called in India) pants turned into cool urban Harem pants, sari and headscarf turned into a rad hooded dress.
This spring their collection focuses on the traditional Indian method of tie dye. The method consists of dying in boiling water, then tying in specific ways to resist the next dye, tying again to resist the next colour, and so on. The smaller the ties, the more intricate the patterns but the girls prefer the bigger more graphic patterns that don't look so typically Indian and give their clothes a definite modern edge. They chose bright contrasting colours and cool linens and silks. I think NorBlack NorWhite has a very interesting aesthetic and I can't wait to see more from them. Also I want to know where I can find those sweet anklets and hair accessories!
